This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rightsand privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. Assisting higher level staff, reviewing project activities while monitoring project development to ensure environmental qualities and department goals are met. Assist the Division of Operations with various projects and tasks utilizing environmental technical skills to meet department goals, including but not limited to: permitting, regulation monitoring, field inspections, compliance inspections, coordinate and/or conduct program trainings, technical assistance to facility managers, funding and expenditure management reports for projects and staff, develop and implement programs to promote optimal use of environmental resources, contractual, bidding, proposal, and document processing, renewable, sustainable, and economic purchasing of supplies and materials, developing information systems, statistical summaries, and annual reporting. Completes reporting and data collection tasks including but not limited to: tasks relating to environmental quality such as sustainability surveys, refrigerant inventory, and tracking, zero emission efforts, Green NY reporting, and climate investment tracking. Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
