Environmental Scientist, Geologist or Engineer - LaBella Associates : Job Details

We are currently seeking Environmental Scientists, Geologists and Engineers in our Buffalo, NY office. The Environmental Division at LaBella provides a full range of environmental due diligence services from initial assessment to remediation. The Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer must have extensive experience with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) programs including but not limited to the Brownfield Cleanup Program and Spills program.This position requires primarily office work; however, the successful candidate should expect to be out in the field to mentor junior staff and support field staff, on an as-needed basis. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.DutiesScoping of Phase II and remedial investigationsPlanning and execution of field investigation programs targeting soil, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.Data tabulation and managementField and laboratory data review and interpretationRemedial alternatives analysisCost estimatingTechnical report writing and reviewSupport field sampling programs, as neededRequirements4-6 Years ExperienceBS in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related fieldMS Office SuiteExperience with Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup ProgramStrong communication skills, critical thinking, creativityField sampling experience40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper certification and up to date annual refresherSalary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 per yearThe specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.BenefitsBody, mind, and wallet LaBella s benefits support a holistic approach to your health and wellness, creating the foundation for physical, mental, and financial well-being.
