We are seeking motivated Environmental Services Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will participate in a rotating on-call program, utilizing a cell phone to respond to various cleaning and maintenance tasks at the University during the night, primarily from Sunday to Thursday, 10 PM to 6:30 AM. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive cleaning duties for the interior and exterior of assigned buildings, such as residence halls, administrative offices, academic spaces, and athletic facilities. This position involves heavy lifting, transportation of materials, and handling biohazard substances. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory days. - Clean restrooms and ensure they are restocked with paper and soap supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and properly bag trash for disposal.
- Perform routine maintenance on custodial equipment and supplies.
- Use and maintain equipment and supplies with care, promoting workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Maintain adequate supplies to meet the day-to-day needs of custodial staff.
- Secure and lock all doors after cleaning in designated areas.
- Clean floors and carpets using scrubbing machines, vacuums, and extractors.
Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Familiarity with Hazardous Materials procedures.
- One year of general cleaning experience, with knowledge of carpet and floor maintenance techniques and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
