This position requires working every other weekend and holiday.

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. Responsibilities include ensuring cleanliness in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas, adhering to infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Emptying waste baskets and ensuring proper disposal.
  • Cleaning floors through sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing using appropriate tools.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and other areas.
  • Wearing protective equipment as required.
  • Keeping cleaning supplies, equipment, and carts organized and well-stocked.
  • Assisting in laundry areas as necessary.

This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move up to 40-50 lbs and stay on your feet throughout the shift. You may encounter noisy equipment during operations.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with a minimum of six months of experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning. Familiarity with cleaning materials, equipment, methods, and the ability to use computers is beneficial. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.
