Title: Environmental SpecialistLocation: McIntosh, AlabamaSalary: $83,000 - $125,000Relocation AvailableWebsite:Olin.comFocus: This role is responsible for the implementation of Environmental Initiatives and guiding Environmental compliance. The Environmental Specialist is primarily focused on maintaining and improving performance and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Local, Corporate, and Site requirements. This position reports to the Site EHS Manager.Essential Functions:
  • Manage air, water and waste regulatory (including RMP) and permit requirements. This includes permit applications for plant projects that consists of new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and permit renewal applications to ensure continuous license to operate.
  • Ensure adequate management system is in place in order to maintain compliance with all site Environmental operational permits (water, air, waste etc).
  • Manage environmental improvement and compliance projects.
  • Prepare reports and submit by required deadlines; participate in representation with outside agencies.
  • Participate in plant and Division audits and interface with internal and external auditors and regulatory and government agency personnel.
  • Investigate Environmental incidents, develop corrective actions and recommend future preventive measures to prevent recurrence and achieve environmental improvements.
  • Develops programs for environmental remedial action and leads teams for critical incidents (evaluation of needs, provides communication, etc.)
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree*; Engineering or Science discipline preferred
  • 5+ years related environmental experience in a manufacturing environment; prior chemical industry experience preferred
  • Strong US regulatory/compliance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, as well as regulators verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Prior Olin experience preferred
