EOSS Linux System Administrator/Network - Quecon : Job Details

Quecon, Inc. is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the Federal Aviation Administration's mission and vision to provide highly qualified, professional, and technical resources to satisfy agency requirements.. Qualified candidates will perform a variety of duties to support the FAA customer in achieving both their short- and long-term goals. We are looking for hardworking, talented and committed individuals to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth Linux configuration experience. A full understanding of computer system design and implementation is required. Candidates should have experience maintaining complex computer systems from multiple perspectives including Linux system administration, Linux shell scripting, and knowledge of networking devices. Candidates must be able to employ these technical skills independently and securely. Candidates must also possess strong communication skills. *Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust. Must be a US Citizen or 3-year permanent resident. This position currently follows a hybrid schedule. The candidate will be expected to report to the Wiliam J. Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, NJ, at least 2 days per week or as required. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another technical field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Linux background (Redhat Linux is ideal, but other distributions are acceptable) - Configure OS, Administration Soft skills (communication, organization, etc.) Hardware skills - Remove and replace system components, Install HW/OS Knowledge of Networking Devices (Fundamentals of IP addressing, routing, ACLs, configurations) Data analysis Familiar with Linux Shell Scripting The following skills are a plus but not required: Understanding the software development and engineering processes Requirements development Java, SQL XML familiarity NAS flight processing TBFM experience or other FAA system experience *Minimal travel may be required Quecon's Corporate Values: Quality, Consistency, Value, Mission, and, most importantly, our Employees At the core of Quecon's identity is our commitment to providing quality services and products to our customers.
