Job DescriptionJob SummaryUnder the direction of EITS leadership, the Sr. Management Consultant Level C is responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and implementation of corporate -wide Laboratory Information systems. Specifically, manage and direct the collection and transformation of information into meaningful business requirements, development and modifications of requirements documentation for the design and implementation of laboratory information systems. Sr. Management Consultants are responsible for training and mentoring lower-level analysts, and taking on more complex issues, optimizations, and tickets. Sr. Management Consultants will lead and coordinate meetings and projects and will act as a backup to the Assistant Director as needed.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesGeneral tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Analyze and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications.
- Perform build in Epic including, but not limited to Lab orders, results, Lab workflow- Inpatient and Ambulatory.
- Collaborate with Cerner and Integration teams for build and troubleshooting issues.
- Create statistical reporting based on end user needs within the Epic module assigned.
- Ability to complete demonstrations, and give effective presentations.
- Develop status reports for submission to leadership.
- Provide technical and analytic expertise for the development of the Laboratory Information System.
- Responsible for the daily monitoring and issue resolution of any system related issues reported by end users; will require daily usage of the ESD Service Now application.
- Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards.
- Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non-functional requirements.
- Ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
- Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process.
- Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines and other materials.
- Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defects
- Due to the responsibilities of your position, you may be required to work beyond your regularly scheduled hours.
- Perform other duties as required
- Epic certification/proficiency must be maintained and up to date including CEE's and NVT trainings to retain employment
- This role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% onsite. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform required work within 48 hours. This may be subject to change
Minimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and2. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications.Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.3. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Department PreferencesCertification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:
- Certification in Epic Inpatient Orders, Ambulatory or Epic Beaker module required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
- At least 2 full life cycle implementations, other implementation of systems, major system upgrade, or application preferred.
- Knowledge of HL7 is preferred.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year Healthcare Management Experience (Clinical. Technical or Administrative) required or applicable experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with EPIC certification required for Epic titles only
- Application knowledge and experience with appropriate application required for Epic titles only
