Burrtec is a family-owned company that firmly believes the key element to our success is knowing how important each employee is in the organization.We have the following position at our Agua Mansa Material Recovery Facility:Equipment Maintenance IAs an Equipment Maintenance I at Burrtec, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of a variety of heavy-duty and industrial equipment used in our Material Recovery Facility. This critical role ensures that our equipment operates efficiently, safely, and consistently, supporting the company's mission of responsible waste management and environmental sustainability.SALARY RANGE: $26.35/hour - $28.35/hourESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty and industrial equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, balers, compactors, forklifts, and trucks.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify and resolve problems promptly, minimizing downtime.
  • Repair and Replacement: Repair and replace faulty or worn-out components to ensure the equipment's safe and reliable operation.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections in compliance with company policies.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols and contribute to a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Tool and Parts Management: Manage the inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring that necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Training: Stay current with new equipment technologies and maintenance techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A valid California Driver's License and a good driving record required
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty and industrial equipment
  • Minimum 2 years experience with diesel, gasoline, and propane engines preferred
COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics
  • Order parts when necessary
  • Fill out work and purchase orders
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Safety-conscious and adhere to safety standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Be able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Work overhead and underneath equipment, climbing, pushing, and pulling
  • Be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, heat, and cold conditions
  • Frequently out in the elements (i.e., rain, sun, wind)
