Your Challenge:

The Line Maintenance Team is looking for a new member who can hit the ground running and immediately contribute. You must be able to work in a high-pace environment where equipment uptime is critical. Being able to diagnose and solve problems quickly is key to your success. Making lasting repairs based on true root cause fixes enables Lumileds to deliver high quality lighting solutions to its customers.

Working Hours:

Night Shift: Monday - Wednesday & Monday - Thursday: 6:00pm-6:00am

Your Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility is to keep the Production equipment up and running. Doing so involves the following key tasks:

  • Communicating with Operators, Technicians, and Engineers to stay current on priorities as well as new developments.
  • Monitoring MES and walking the production floor to quickly respond to unscheduled downs as well as planning ahead for scheduled downs to limit the impact of PM's on uptime.
  • Interpreting SPC charts, historical data, and other control charts in order to determine root cause.
  • Performing mechanical assembly, helium leak detection, and electrical troubleshooting on semiconductor equipment.
  • Documenting any and all work done for future reference and ISO compliance.
  • Contributing to the Continuous Improvement efforts of a company that believes in Lean Manufacturing.

Your Team:

The Line Maintenance Team is responsible for the Uptime of all equipment used in the manufacturing of LED's in San Jose. Our work enables the Operators to reach the Production goals by having well- performing machines to run. We work very closely with the Engineering Teams – both Process and Hardware – in order to troubleshoot tough problems as well as prepare equipment to meet the demands of new processes.

What We Are Looking For:

Must Have's:

  • Experience with semiconductor equipment in a repair and maintenance capacity.
  • Ability to perform regularly scheduled repeat preventative maintenance (PM) in a physically demanding environment.
  • Be self-directed to stay on top of unscheduled downs and respond to the needs of the Operations team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of vacuum systems including the use of Helium Leak Detection as a diagnostic tool.
  • Knowledge of control systems to be able to diagnose system problems.
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals and gases including the ability to be ERT certified and become an active member of the team.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly and work in a cleanroom environment for long time periods.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Education requirements:

  • College degree not required.
  • Preference given to candidates with technical training and/or Associates Degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of on-the-job training and practical working experience may take the place of formal education.
  • Ability to use computer logging systems (MES) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ideal candidate holds a 40-Hour Hazwopper training certificate (pastor present).

Preferred Experience:

  • MOCVD (e.g. Aixtron/Veeco Compound Semiconductor systems experience highly desirable).
  • Stepper (ASML/Canon experience in a maintenance role, ASML trained highly desirable).
  • Deposition and Etch systems(e.g. Novellus/LAM/CHA/etc.).
  • Track Tools (e.g. TEL/RiteTrack etc.).
  • Wet Benches.
  • Furnaces.
  • Lean Manufacturing practices including a working knowledge of 6S and elimination of waste.

We need someone who likes working in close teams with people of various backgrounds to get to root cause and makes lasting repairs. We also need someone who can use time wisely to plan ahead and prepare for regularly scheduled PM's as well as make improvements to existing processes so that we can continue to work better and faster. You will also find yourself working on a wide variety of equipment so need to be on your toes and ready to shift gears several times throughout a shift.

Pay Range Data:

We expect to pay within the range of $34.95 – $49.95 per hour for this role. This range represents base salary and does not reflect benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries reflect several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, education/certifications and specific work location.
