Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates compaction refuse truck and flatbed dump truck collecting solid waste and recycling from City parks and facilities.
  • Inspect trash containers and repair as needed.
  • Assist with cleanup of special events.
  • Work independently and follow prescribed routes.
  • This position may be required to perform special tasks during emergency and disaster events.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED and two years of maintenance experience related to assignment.ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.Licensing/Certifications
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
