Benefits Eligible: Yes. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Location: MCAS Cherry Point - New Bern, NC. May require occasional weekend shift work. The Equipment Operator Level I plays a key role in the transportation of aircraft parts, components, calibrated tools, and various non-aeronautical supplies between designated locations. Utilizing material handling equipment, you will ensure the timely and safe delivery of essential items to support operational needs. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and transporting materials while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining accurate records of all activities. This position is vital for maintaining efficient workflows and supporting the broader team in meeting production goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform route-based Mule Train services
    • Move aircraft parts, components, calibrated tooling, non-aeronautical parts, supplies and materials among the facilities shops, and stations.
    • Ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries to ensure customer ability to meet established production schedules.
    • Provide route-based mule train services to dedicated inside or outside routes as defined by customer provided maps. Routes are designated to provide accountability and maintain timeliness. Routes may change as required to meet production demands.
    • Provide mule train services to any other locations throughout FRCE upon request, whether listed on maps or not.
    • Ensure wagons used are covered at all times when departing each building.
    • Ensure a maximum of three wagons are pulled per route.
  • Report completion of assignments to dispatcher by radio.
  • Ensures all cargo is properly stowed, secured and delivered per instruction, as indicated on tag or per dispatch request.
  • Complete pre-trip inspections as required.
  • Complete trip tickets as required.
  • Maintain updated records of activity logs.
  • Conduct operational check of equipment used in accordance with FRCEAST Form 11200/2.
  • Operate motor vehicles and equipment safely and in accordance with FRCEAST protocols.

Minimum Qualifications: These are the minimum qualifications to be considered for this position.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience operating a motor vehicle.
  • A High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License with a clean driving history.
    • Class A or B CDL preferred. P-Passenger and X-Combination endorsements preferred.
  • Ability to pass a government administered background investigation to be granted access to government systems and/or worksites.
  • Ability to obtain electric cart and Mule Tug certification within six months of hire.
  • Oversize Load Escort certification preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
