Equipment Operator I - City of South Milwaukee Wisconsin : Job Details

Under general supervision and direction of the Street Superintendent and Street Department Leadership Team, the Equipment Operator I performs a variety of laboring work, including clearing snow and debris, tree removal and chipping, repair of roads and sidewalks, trash collection, and a variety of other semi-skilled labor intensive tasks. This position qualifies as emergency personnel as permitted by Wis. Stat. Sec. 66.0502. Duties/ Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Operates vehicles and equipment including trucks, skid steer, lawnmower, pavement roller, concrete saw, pressure washer, brush chipper, tar kettle, and various other pieces of heavy and light equipment. Maintains equipment and performs pre-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment. Operates self-deposit station as assigned. Cuts grass and maintains city owned properties. Trims, cuts, removes, and plants trees. Operates wood chipper for disposal of branches and logs. Crack seals roads and alleys.
