Position will be open until filled.We are currently seeking: An equipment service technician to join our team and, under general supervision, repair and adjust City vehicles and equipment, and assist mechanics as available.Your responsibilities will include:
Performing preventative maintenance on City vehicles and equipment including passenger vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and light duty equipment.Installing accessories as needed on City equipment.Checking and/or replacing batteries, fluids, and lubes on equipment and vehicles.Performing safety inspections on City vehicles. Completing job orders according to work performed.Maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe working environment. Assisting mechanics with maintenance and repair projects.Utilizing proper safety precautions in all work performed, recognizing, avoiding, and reporting unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pmRegular and timely attendance is required.The above duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. - Safe and effective repair and maintenance of vehicles according to City standards.
- Closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent; and one year of experience in vehicle maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Must obtain Texas State Vehicle Safety Inspector certification within 6 months of employment
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in repair and maintenance facilities; moderate physical demands; strength sufficient to lift and move items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
