EQUIPMENT TECHNICIANMAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:This position's responsibilities include, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical and pneumatic systems. Perform preventative maintenance on injection molding machines. Core equipment includes injection molding machines, automation and assembly work cells, material handling and chiller system.MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILIETIES:* Support and uphold the Viant Values: Customer Oriented, Integrity, Servant Leadership, Own It, Teamwork, and Be Agile.* Treat employees with dignity and respect.* ATTENDANCE IS PARAMOUNT. Including good housekeeping.* Adhere to company policies and procedures.* Plan and carry out work assignments, using blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, or liquid or air flow sheets, following prescribed regulations, directives, or other instructions as required* Research catalogs or repair part lists to locate sources for repair parts, requisitioning parts and recording their receipt.* Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment.* Test or calibrate components or equipment, following manufacturers' manuals and troubleshooting techniques, using hand tools, power tools, or measuring devices.* Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.* Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines troublesome machine components.* Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.* Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.* Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.* Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.* This position may be also have responsibility for the duties listed under the Facility Technician.* Other duties as assigned needed to help drive our Vision, Mission, and Values.EXPECTATION* Develop skills to assist Mold, Set-Up, and Process Technicians as needed.* Use trouble shooting knowledge to solve straightforward problems.* NO disciplinary actions in the last nine (9) months.TRAINING REQUIREMENTS* Understand the Viant Values and how they pertain to your position* Understand the Quality Policy and know where to find it* Understand Viant's Mission and Vision* Study technical manuals or attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledgeSUCCESSFUL and COMPETITENT COMPLETION* Allows you to move into a Facility Technician or Facility Manager position.REQUIREMENTSEducation/Certification* Associates Degree from a Technical school AND 3 years of hands on experience* Knowledge of ERP system (IQMS preferred)EXPERIENCE* Minimum 5+ years of hands on experienceSKILLS/ COMPETENCIES* Ability to work independently* Ability to work as a team* Ability to perform root cause analysis* Ability to critically think to resolve issuesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.* Visual acuity* Extended periods of bending, lifting, standing, and sitting* Significant use of hands* Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:* Protective eyewear* Ear plugs* Hair net* Protective gowning (lab coat, hood, shoe covers)* Safety shoesWORK CONDITIONS* Clean Room setting* Outside conditions* Extreme heat (at times)* Noise* Vibration* Close quarters (confined spaces at times)Viant is a global medical device design and manufacturing services provider that partners and innovates with customers to provide the highest quality, life enhancing medical devices.
