(NYSE: JEF), a diversified financial services company.Position Summary:Jefferies is seeking an entry level Equity Research Associate for its Energy Equity Research team which covers ~40 stocks. In this role, the associate will have the opportunity to analyze industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of senior members of the team. The associate will be responsible for managing industry databases, updating presentations, and maintaining financial models as well as contributing to our flagship North American Energy Weekly report. The associate will also work closely with the team to support producing reports, including earnings reports, company notes, monthly/weekly publications and initiation reports. Over time, the associate will also be responsible for communicating recommendations to sales, trading and clients.Responsibilities
  • Responsible for associate-level coverage of an array of energy stocks
  • Build and maintain detailed company models and industry databases
  • Work on recurring energy reports including our flagship North American Energy Weekly report
  • Write first look notes, contribute to longer thematic reports, and company initiations
  • Field questions and communicate with sales and/or clients
  • Maintain relationships with company IR teams.
Qualifications:
  • Strong academic background, with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics with Bachelor's Degree awarded in 2021-2024
  • 0-2 years experience of financial services experience
  • Demonstrated interest in energy or adjacent sectors is advantageous
  • Advanced excel & modelling skills are critical
  • Experienced using FactSet and/or Bloomberg
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • CFA or progression towards CFA preferred
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 highly preferred (required within 5 months of hire)
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $100,000 - $120,000.The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
