- Follows patient care standards, work within scope of practice.
- Delivers direct patient care.
- Maintains clean and safe environment.
- Assists, anticipate needs of RN/MD.
- Collects and documents data about patient on the Unit.
- Assists in admission, discharge and transfer procedure(s).
- Makes copies of labs, EKGs, patient charts when appropriate; sends faxes for medical record releases.
- Helps in the making of beds and stocking of linens, drawers, IV trays; helps with the processing of paperwork.
- Backs up registration staff (i.e. answers phones, directs patients/visitors who present at the front desk).
- Assists in transporting patients.
- Answers phones in a timely manner; places calls as needed to physicians, hospitals, etc. as requested to facilitate patient care.
- Utilizes equipment properly.
- Enters orders.
- Participates in Event Reporting
- Follows Patient Care Standards.
- Enters/checks ER patient charges and makes corrections when necessary.
- Maintains clean and safe environment.
- Picks up ER mail daily and sorts.
- Practices cost effective use of supplies; orders supplies, including ordering supplies for the ski areas.
- Contributes to the goals and visions of the staff at Tahoe Forest Hospital and actively supports them in daily work.
- Pursues professional growth and contributes personal expertise to the development of the team.
- Keeps Rand information current and physician business cards on file.
- Transports patients.
- Assists those patients requiring help with ambulation.
- Patient rounding including vital signs.
- Provides general basic patient care.
- Answers call bells or uses intercom to determine patient needs and advises nurse of needs beyond scope of position.
- Accurately completes requisitions for ordered exams.
- Delivers samples to Lab.
- Makes appointments as necessary and documents same.
- Assists patients to dress and undress and cares of patient belongings.
- Restocks linen and supplies to exam room.
- Answers and places telephone calls as directed.
- Immediately reports any observed changes in condition or behavior of patients.
- Documents in an acceptable medical legal fashion.
- Immediately reports any unusual incidents.
- Demonstrates good judgment in implementing patient safety measures and documenting interventions in the chart in accordance with policies.
- Seeks educational opportunities to expand skills and competency in areas worked.
- Takes direction well from different staff/EMS personnel.
- Able to work as an effective team member.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and safety.
- Back fills to complete shift assignments if patient load permits.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
