Estate Litigation - Associate Attorney Our legal team is committed to providing each client with quality counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized service. Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 110+ attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to increase its talented ranks of Attorneys by adding an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years to join our growing Trust and Estates Department. The Trusts and Estates department manages all aspects of estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation. This is an incredibly unique platform for an associate looking to expand their skill set while growing their own book of business. Successful CandidateA self-starter with a strong work ethic and organizational skills are essential for this position. Must have good oral communication skills and ability to communicate and be personable with clients, court staff, adversaries, witnesses; must be true team player genuinely interested in working in a supportive, collaborative environment. Candidate should have experience in Estate Litigation and Surrogate's Court procedures. The focus of this position is to assist this department with respect to estate litigations, in addition, this is a unique opportunity to learn and assist with estate planning matters as well. Although not required, the ideal candidate will already have a small book of business that they are seeking to foster and grow, while developing new skill sets. What you will need to have:
  • Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
  • 3-5 years T&E planning, administration and/or estate litigation
  • Great organization and multitasking skills relating to estate planning tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
  • Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to gracefully communicate with clients.
  • Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
Competitive salary commensurate with experience - Salary Range $115,000-$140,000
