**Job Overview**

ESTIMATOR

SHIFT: 1ST SHIFT

LOCATION: DUBUQUE WITHIN 20 MILES

SALARY: $60,000-$80,000/YEAR

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work independently or with estimating team to create responsive proposals to both simple and complex requests for bids

2. Receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable scopes and alignment with contractor bid documents

3. Continually develop and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, general contractors and clients

4. Directly prepare detailed quantity take-offs, develop assumed specifications, and assign market relevant cost factors to fully articulate preliminary/ final construction cost estimates.

5. Analyze various precast projects open for bidding.

6. Analyze project plans and specifications for estimating and bidding procedures

7. Work, communicate, present, and negotiate directly with construction managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to win business.

8. Download, store and organize plans and project specifications electronically

9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, products, and pricing trends

Required Skills/Abilities:

6. Ability to perform basic arithmetic and understand construction blueprints

7. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Ability to use or be trained to use platforms such as email and On Center

3. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

4. 5+ Years experience estimating government, commercial, and retail projects preferred, but not required

5. Prior precast construction experience preferred, but not required.

1. Ability to move between office and job site locations, which may require walking, standing, or navigating stairs in an office environment

2. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate with team members.

3. Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs. occasionally.

4. Ability to walk around construction sites and manufacturing areas, sometimes in varying weather conditions
