Job Details:

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Permanent Estimator to join our thriving Construction team. This position plays a pivotal role in our organization, being responsible for the estimation of costs and resources for construction projects and ensuring that they are completed within budget and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Commercial Masonry, Project Estimation, Material Take Off (MTO), and Scheduling. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related field, with a proven track record of successful project completions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the entire estimation process from the initial stages to the final proposal submission.
  • Evaluate blueprints, plans, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Perform Material Take Off (MTO) to identify the quantity and type of materials required for each project.
  • Use expertise in Commercial Masonry to provide accurate cost estimates for masonry-related tasks.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Prepare reports and projections based on project costs, and present findings to management, clients, or project personnel.
  • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
  • Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction estimation, specifically in commercial masonry.
  • Proficient in relevant software, including CAD and estimation software.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proven ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
  • Professional certification in estimation or a related field would be advantageous.
