Estimator (Telecom) - Verigent : Job Details

Job Title: Low Voltage Estimator Location: NY/NJ metro Duration: Permanent, Direct Hire Salary Range: $90-120,000 (Based on Experience) Summary: This position is responsible for overseeing the preparation of detailed low voltage estimates based on the project requirements. Working with Sales, Operations and Estimating Teams to prepare detailed, profitable low voltage bids ranging from $1MM to $5MM. Responsibilities: • Attend bid meetings and site surveys • Review RFPs to understand scope of work to bid • Identify labor, material and time requirements to perform work safely and profitably • Execute take-offs of documents • Review and interpret project documents including drawings/blueprints/sketches, specifications, and contract language • Work with manufacturers and distribution to obtain pricing for materials • Work with management to determine labor capabilities and rates, equipment and other requirements • Perform project hand-offs with team upon project reward • Prepare change order pricing for on-going project work when required • Collaborate, mentor, and co-train other estimators Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years field experience in a lead role • 5 plus years' in telecommunications estimating • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam, working knowledge of AutoCAD would be a plus. • Sound knowledge of BICSI design principles • Strong attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of material properties • An understanding of installation processes and construction methods • Good problem-solving skills • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
