ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Marshall Student Center provides facilities and event services for the USF students, departments, faculty, and visitors. The MSC is the hub for campus life and programs and houses offices including Student Government, Leadership and Civic Engagement, Center for Student Involvement, and Fraternity and Sorority Life.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Event logistics Specialist is responsible for the oversight of the building operations, events logistics and student staff during non-traditional work hours. They will support the student building managers, student staff that work nights and weekends. The logistics specialist will assist with admin responsibilities like scheduling, time-sheets and training of new MSC student employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise room setups; this includes checking that they accurately reflect the reservation request, making contact with the customers, securing all equipment, and executing facility turnover at events conclusion. Utilize daily event schedule & set up worksheets to provide excellent customer service.
Oversee opening, closing, clearing and securing the facility, including but not limited to reporting any security, maintenance or equipment issues to the proper office.
Oversee & Supervise student staff at the Marshall Student Center, with an emphasis on student development and leadership opportunities. Assist in recruitment, hiring, training and on-boarding of student staff.
Enforce Marshall Student Center and USF policies, rules and regulations & Manage crises that may arise such as injuries & physical confrontations.
Work and partner with Event Planners and Operational Team on related client or building needs to deliver high levels of customer service.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a high school diploma and four years of related experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree and 1 Year Experience in Administrative Support, Student Unions, or Event Management Positions
