Description:Job Overview:The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sale bookings. This position acts as the liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff. Responsibilities include: administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review. Event Planning Managers also are the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events.Essential ResponsibilitiesBe incredibly friendly, customer centric, and have FUN in a fast paced environment.Must be available to work evenings and weekends.Plan, up sell and detail programs with clients including; verification and modification of space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes, decorations, etc.Communicate requirements of clients to all hotel departments through event resumes, event orders, pre-convention meetings with clients, internal departmental meetings, and event order meetings.Forecast banquet food and beverage revenues.Monitor and control individual event budgets and details to maximize revenues and minimize expenses while ensuring delivery of a quality product.Professionally represent the department and the hotel by participating in and or conducting client and industry functions, tours for contracted groups, planning meetings, tastings, pre and post-convention meetings, industry events, client entertaining etc.).Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers who provide services to the groups and to the hotel.After the conclusion of meeting, review bill and post conference reporting with meeting planner.Provide a service culture that generates positive event satisfaction, sustained revenue achievement, and excellent internal communicationsOther tasks/duties as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.About the Hotel: For more than 125 years, the stately Elms Hotel & Spa has welcomed visitors to downtown Excelsior Springs, nestled amid picturesque, tree-lined grounds.
