$44/HR

50% Travel Required from July-October

Orion Group is hiring for a REMOTE Event Planning Specialist

to support our pharmaceutical clients Talent Acquisition team in North Chicago.

The Event Planning Specialist engages in all aspects of major event planning for major enterprise diversity conferences and serves as the on-site conference workstream lead aiding in the tactical execution of the events.

Event Planning Specialist Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end large-scale enterprise Conference Registration process for conference attendees including gathering and organizing key attendee details in the master conference project plan.

Participate in conference Event Team Onboarding, including developing PowerPoint slides and presenting at event team kick-offs and other related meetings.

Manage the end-to-end hoteling process, including booking and managing hotel room blocks and working directly with hotel vendor points for enterprise conferences.

Provides on-site direction and tactical support to recruiters and business members. Troubleshoots and identifies real time solutions during the tactical execution of events.

Leads the Conference Planning Workstream portion of on-site conference Daily Stand-up meetings providing daily tactical guidance to the event team members during conferences and events.

Serves as the conference Core Team weekly huddles facilitator developing weekly agendas and post-meeting recaps.

Tracks and synthesizes key event data to ensure adequate supplies and materials are sent to conference.

Event Planning Specialist Qualifications

Bachelors degree in business administration, Human Resources, Marketing or related field required.

Minimum 4 years related experience supporting event or conference planning required. Recruiting or Diversity & Inclusion experience, a plus.

Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify problems, draw conclusions and recommend solutions.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively influence others at all levels in an organization. Strong project management and organizational skills.

Strong command of Microsoft Office with advanced technical capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint.

Effective presentation skills and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate as a team member.

Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy in reports and project plans, and follow through.

Outstanding ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and efficiently manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Previous experience working in event software such as CVENT a plus.

Travel: 30-40%
