Summary: Coordinates the details surrounding special events and entertainment for the Casino.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.
Essential Job Functions:
* Assists in conceptualizing, developing and coordinating special events, promotions, player tournaments and entertainment by conducting research over the Internet, magazines, and correspondence with other gaming industry personnel.
* Coordinates special events by assisting in determining theme, dcor, gifts, invitations and other details.
* Processes contracts, purchase orders, checks, winner sheets, tax information and other documents associated with special events, promotional drawings and entertainment.
* Acts as liaison between the Casino and vendors and suppliers for on-site and off-site facilitation of special events and promotions, including production, decorations, setup and other specific equipment or material needs for events.
* Coordinates details and plans of events and entertainment with other Casino departments.
* Rents equipment and purchases giveaways and other supplies and materials for events.
* Researches and orders giveaways and uniforms for special events and promotions.
* Attends special events, promotional drawings and entertainment scheduled at the Casino.

* Organizing and coordinating special events, promotions and entertainment.

* In depth understanding of MICS, Regs and Policies & Procedures for gaming tournaments and promotional drawings.
* Computer hardware and software applications.
* Interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy.
Required Skill in:
* Planning, coordinating, and designing special events, promotions and entertainment programming.
* Managing logistics, equipment needs, and events.
* Preparing budgets and monitoring expenses.
* Operating computer hardware and software.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in marketing, hospitality, entertainment & event management, or a related field, and three (3) year's event promotion or planning work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and, experience.
* Valid State of Oregon Driver's License AND eligible for company car insurance.
* High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
* Work is performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional exposure to outside environments with varying temperatures and possible adverse weather conditions or gaming environments with loud noise and possible tobacco smoke.
* Work is subject to standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
* Equipment utilized includes personal computer, standard office equipment, telephone, audio/video equipment, two-way radio, and department vehicles.
