Job Description :

The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events that promote KTSU's mission, engage the community, and generate revenue through underwriting and partnerships. This role includes overseeing logistics, managing budgets, and securing underwriters to support event success. The Events Coordinator will work with internal and external stakeholders to produce high-quality, branded events that align with KTSU's strategic objectives and community impact goals.

Essential Duties Summary

* Develop, coordinate, and execute a calendar of events, including concerts, fundraisers, workshops, and community service events.

* Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor negotiation, scheduling, permits, budget adherence, and timeline management.

* Ensure successful event setup, execution, and teardown, maintaining high standards for quality and participant experience.

* Identify, engage, and secure underwriting to support event funding and enhance branding opportunities.

* Develop underwriting packages and proposals tailored to meet underwriter objectives and expectations.

* Oversee underwriter activations, ensuring fulfillment of agreements and fostering long-term partnerships.

* Prepare and manage event budgets, monitoring expenses and revenue to maintain financial targets.

* Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to optimize costs and ensure cost-effective event delivery.

* Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional plans for each event, increasing visibility and attendance.

* Develop marketing materials, such as social media content, email newsletters, and press releases, that align with KTSU's brand identity.

* Recruit, train, and coordinate event volunteers and staff, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.

* Lead pre-event and post-event briefings to align team members and ensure continuous improvement in event execution.

* Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and educational institutions to expand event reach.

* Represent KTSU at community events to promote the station's mission and build partnerships.

Hiring Range $55,038.89 - $70,174.59 Education

Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

* Event planning, logistics, and production best practices.

* Budgeting and financial management related to event coordination.

* Principles of underwriting, marketing, and community outreach.

Skill in:

* Securing, negotiating, and managing underwriting relationships.

* Project management, including multitasking and time management.

* Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.

Ability to:

* Develop and maintain relationships with diverse underwriters, vendors, and community partners.

* Lead a team effectively and manage volunteers and staff with professionalism.

* Problem-solve and adapt quickly to challenges during event execution.

Work Experience

* Two years (2) of experience in event coordination, including experience with underwriting and vendor management.

* Experience in public media, community engagement, or nonprofit event coordination preferred.

Working/Environmental Conditions

* Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.

* Prolonged standing and/or walking.

* Handling light weight objects.

* Using or carrying equipment.
