Reports To: Executive DirectorStatus: Full-Time, Exempt, SalaryLocation: Remote but one of our 13 funding states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas)Position Summary:Southern Black Girls and Women's Consortium is seeking a dynamic and experienced Events Program Manager. The Program Manager is a full time position that leads a team of Southern Black Girls' consultants and vendors to organize public events or conferences that align with our brand and enhance our presence as a disruptor in philanthropy. This role is central to our efforts to build a movement for Black Girls and Women in the South. This position is the project manager for our annual events, the Joy is our Journey Bus Tour and the Dream Conference as well as other events that help us reach out to our network. The events support Southern Black Girls fundraising efforts and will often be engaged with sponsor relations and sponsorship.This position reports to the executive director but regularly works closely with cross functional teams to ensure events are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, providing a seamless and impactful experience for all attendees.Key Responsibilities:Program Management
- Develops relevant program design for high profile interactive events for Black girls, women, and gender expansive youth
- Sets forward an annual calendar of creative and innovative event attractions. Conducts short- and long-term planning and event management
- Develops and recommends events budgets, marketing plans, and objectives and managers within those approved plans
- In partnership with the Executive Director, meets or exceeds budgeted sponsorships and in-kind donations
- Manage qualified vendors and other consultants contributing to an event
- Manage the successful event debriefs or other final reports for each event
- Trains, supervises and works with staff supporting event planning and execution
- Manages end to end logistics from concept to execution including venue selection, vendor management, attendee registration, and on-site logistics
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and task lists to ensure all event elements are executed efficiently
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with internal teams, partners, and vendors to ensure cohesive brand presentation and logistical support across events
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquires
Analytics and Reporting
- Analyze event performance through surveys and attendee feedback
- Generate detailed reports on outcomes versus objectives to inform future event strategies
Communications
- In partnership with the Communications team and the Executive Director, recommends, develops, and implements effective marketing plans for generating event revenues.
Qualifications:Skills & Abilities
- Ability to design culturally competent and relevant programming including workshop tracks and engagement events
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive software
- Confident public speaker, comfortable networking and representing SBGWC to a large and diverse audience of organizations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on a remote team throughout the South
- Excellent customer service skills and relationship management skills
- Facilitation experience and knowledge of designing agendas and materials for effective meetings
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication and editing skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms and network communication tools necessary for a remote staff, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Mail Chimp, Google Workspace
- Familiarity with contemporary issues related to Black women, gender/women's policy, justice, economic equity, race or other related subject matter
- Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills are essential
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and handle unexpected challenges
- Ability to travel as needed for event planning and execution
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required or similar professional experience
- Four years or more in program/ event management experience
- Event management, logistics or other related field or other relevant experience

According to research Black women and girls receive less than one percent of the $4.8 billion of philanthropic funds allotted to the south. The SBGWC invests in projects, leaders, and organizations that are underfunded through the following four funds:
- Black Girls Dream Fund - Designed to support the dreams of Black girls by supporting the organizations that care for girls The Black Girl Dream Fund supports education, community development, entrepreneurship, health, travel and cultural exposure, and wellness and safety.
- Black Girls Defense Fund - This discretionary fund provides family and legal support for Black girls and women in need.
- Innovation Fund - This fund allows Black women and girls the space to dream, experiment, and innovate. It provides startup funding for small businesses led by Black girls and women as well as funding for new ideas.
- Collaborative Partnership Philanthropy Fund - The Consortium partners with its philanthropic peers to expand their efforts to focus on Black women and girls and/or establish funds for Black girls and women.
