Fall is just around the corner and the Indianapolis Zoo is on the hunt to addEvents Support Team Membersto our team to assist with our largest public events of the season-- ZooBoo and Christmas at the Zoo (CATZ)!This is a dynamic role that will assist with handing candy out on the trick-or-treat trail, welcoming guests into the Zoo's new Leeward Manor/ Magical Key experience, maintaining fire pits during Christmas at the Zoo, operating rides (weather permitting), and managing the smores station. This position will primarily support all event activities beginning Mid-September through January with the possibility to stay on team after the events conclude.Ideal candidates are committed to advancing the Zoo's mission to protect nature and inspire people to care for our world. By providing above and beyond customer service and ensuring a family-friendly, safe environment, our Guest Experience/ Events department is integral to our operations. A cooperative and team-oriented personality, along with a friendly and courteous attitude is highly desirable. Though this is an entry-level position, any experience working in customer service or housekeeping is a plus! A High School diploma or equivalent is highly desired. Pay rate for this exciting position is $13.00/ hr. This is a part-time (20-29 hrs./week) position that must have the flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Different shift work may be required.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Must be at least 18 years of age.Communicates effectively by speaking in a slow and accurate manner. Answers guests' questions in a clear and precise tone.Guides and directs guests in a detailed and pleasant demeanor.
