Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Public Administration or related field. Five years related office management, with part at SRSU or other university.
Primary Responsibilities
Summary
Function: provides highly skilled administrative assistance in a critical area.
Scope: Manages preparation of high priority and sensitive materials; exercises independent judgment in a wide variety of routine and complex office decisions.
Duties
Assist the Vice President for Finance and Operations and the offices that report directly to the Vice President for Finance and Operations, as requested. Performs administrative functions that require knowledge of procedures and operations and has an understanding of the University's role within the community; has recurring contact with members of the Texas State University System, senior administrators and executives, public and private officials, the media, students, parents, and vendors; exercises initiative and independent judgment in managing Vice President for Finance and Operations schedule and office procedures; and uses discretion in the dissemination of information to faculty, students, staff and the various publics served by the University and coordinates activities with several major subordinate administrative units of the University.
Skills
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills are required; i.e., the ability to communicate effectively verbally and through written correspondence as well as in communicating with individuals in one-on-one situations. Exceptional command of grammar, punctuation, spelling and correct usage of the English language is required. Attention to detail is required. Computer literacy is required and includes keyboarding ability and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
Excellent organizational skills are required. Must be able to work independently, use initiative, and make substantive decisions quickly. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assigns and reviews work of small clerical staff; keeps various administrative fiscal, and/or finance records; prepares and/or verifies documents for accuracy. Reports; composes correspondence for signature; compiles complex reports which may include research, calculation, and composition; Create requisitions and maintains supplies of materials; provides individuals and general public with information policies and procedures; may make arrangements for travel and meetings; operates computer utilizing advanced expertise for word processing, spreadsheet applications, and/or data base management; operates administrative computer for entering data querying, and compiling reports; may maintain department web page. Handles policies, investment reporting, contract reporting, leases including Centennial and other reporting requirements and duties.
Non-Essential: Duties unique to the office, and other duties as assigned. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Position is Security Sensitive.
Working Conditions
Usual: Office conditions; standard hours; exempt from overtime provisions. Position is Security Sensitive.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.

About SRSU
Sul Ross State University Alpine Campus is in the Scenic Davis Mountains of West Texas, is a member of the Texas State University System, is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, and has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students of campus in Alpine, Texas. At an elevation of 4,480 feet, and on the periphery of the Chihuahuan Desert, Alpine enjoys mild winters and cool summers. The SRSU campuses in Del Rio, Eagle Pass, and Uvalde comprise Rio Grande College. RGC offers upper-level courses leading to bachelor's degrees as well as master's degree programs and works closely with its partner institution, Southwest Texas Junior College, to provide a seamless transition to RGC for their students. All RGC students hold an Associate degree from an accredited institution or they have completed 42 semester credit hours of transferrable work.
