Under general supervision, this position is assigned to the Southern Enforcement Branch of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office to perform more complex administrative and clerical duties for the Branch Major, Captain, and Lieutenant. The ideal candidate is expected to perform general, semi-routine, or diversified duties requiring judgment in the application of broader aspects of established practices and procedures; other duties may be performed as necessary. This position requires the ability to compose and prepare agency reports, records and correspondence, and requires the ability to understand and execute complex written and oral instructions. Excellent computer, telephone and public relations skills are also essential. This position may be assigned other duties as necessary and is under the supervision of the Southern Enforcement Branch Master Sergeant. This position is an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., full-time position assigned to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office located at 70 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Typical QualificationsMinimum Training and Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- You must be a US citizen or legally permitted to work in the US
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
- Clean criminal record: no felony, serious misdemeanor or convictions of any crime of moral turpitude
- Good credit history
- Candidates who have been in the military must have received an Honorable Discharge
- Fluent in the oral and written communication of the English language and have outstanding interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent clerical skills such as typing, computer skills, and organizational skills
- Be able use standardized forms and documents
- Must have the ability to deal with and resolve assorted issues or problems
- Be ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
