Job OverviewThe Guardian is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the Managing Director and Senior Vice President/Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to expand his/her expertise to also include managing special projects on a wide range of complex and confidential matters.Department: CommercialReports to: Managing Director and Deputy Editor/Senior Vice President StrategyLocation: New YorkHybrid/Remote/In-Person: Hybrid(3 days/week in-office)Terms and conditions: Full-time, permanentSalary range: $90k - $100kKey Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the daily schedule through strategic calendar management, including prioritizing and arranging meetings
- Plan, book and coordinate all aspects of international and domestic travel
- Prepare, submit and file T&E reports
- Provide exceptional communication and written skills.
- Assist with projects, presentations, research, and data analysis as needed
- Plan and coordinate events, lunches, meetings, and conferences including quarterly townhalls
- Partner with other executive assistants and members of the Guardian team in New York, London, and other locations
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant or similar role
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, especially with senior executives
- Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required
- Advanced time management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to independently prioritize own work and multi-task to meet changing or competing timelines
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent skills in being proactive and thinking ahead
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven newsroom
- Proficient in Google as Suite, Microsoft Office, and other productivity tools
