Reporting to the District Vice President, the Executive Director of the Winter Park YMCA Family Center is a dynamic leader responsible for the center's overall operations, programs, and staff. This role calls for a persuasive, results-driven, and innovative leader who thrives on building relationships and inspiring others. The Executive Director oversees key areas, including Membership, Wellness, Aquatics, Sports, Family and Youth Programs, Facility Management, and Community Engagement. With beautiful parks, award-winning schools, and a close-knit atmosphere, our Winter Park YMCA is ideally located in a residential setting and offers a wide variety of amenities to nourish the mind, body, and spirit! There are certified personal trainers and Les Mills classes, an outdoor splash park for kids across the way from our heated pool, the Silver Sneakers program for seniors, sports for youth and adults, and even social spaces to relax after a workout. Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management in health and wellness or similar industry experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience with fiscal management; including budget development, revenue growth, member retention, fund raising, program management, community relationship building, required.
- Experience in working closely with volunteers required; board leadership and/or volunteer leadership committees highly preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required. With the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Ability to understand, adapt to and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives and cultures.
- Must obtain within 60 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration. Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
- Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Driver license. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The physical activities of this position include: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction.
- Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
- The employee must be able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity, along with the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading, or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person.
