Location: 3 rd Judicial District Child Advocacy Center (3JDCAC)

Title: Executive Director (ED)

Supervised By: Board of Directors (BOD)

Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours weekly)

Position Pay: Salary ($54k-$61k Depending on experience)

Summary: This position has a wide range of responsibilities specific to the operation of the office of the Children's Advocacy Center of the Third Judicial District. The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for overall administration and management of the 3 rd Judicial District Advocacy Center, including all programs, fundraising activities, and general operations.

Areas of responsibility include planning and evaluation, policy development and administration, personnel and fiscal management, and public relations.

This is a full-time position, hired by and directly reports to and accountable to the board of directors (Board) through the board president. Integrity, efficiency, and a positive attitude are essential to the success of any individual who is chosen for this position.

Requirements And Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years' experience in management

Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check with no prior criminal history

Duties And Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee the center's daily operations, ensuring financial stability, efficient staffing, strategic planning, and program development
  • Assuring and maintaining accreditation with the TN Chapter
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with organizational goals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations, policies, and industry standards

Team Leadership & Office Culture

  • Supervise a small team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative office culture that encourages productivity, innovation, and staff well-being

Board & Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintain strong working relationships with the Board of Directors, partner agencies, government officials, grantors, foundations, and contractors
  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement policies, goals, and strategic objectives
  • Prepare board materials and provide direct oversight and management of all board committees

Financial Oversight & Fundraising

  • Ensure ethical disbursement of funds in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Maintain fiduciary oversight, manage financial records, and coordinate annual third-party audits
  • Work closely with the Board Treasurer to ensure efficient use of resources and maintain adequate funding
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including federal, state, and local grants and foundations

Advocacy & Public Policy

  • Develop and maintain relationships with legislators, government officials, and key stakeholders to secure funding and support public policies that protect and enhance the CAC model
  • Represent the organization in state and national policy discussions and collaborations

Strategic Planning, Marketing & Public Relations

  • Lead the development, implementation, and periodic updates of the organization's strategic plan
  • Oversee marketing and public relations efforts, including the creation of collateral materials, annual reports, newsletters, and other communication tools
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the organization when appropriate
  • Lead marketing efforts to enhance visibility and community engagement
  • Work Environment: Work is primarily confined to the CAC office. There are times when errands and community presentations will require this individual to travel within the 3rd Judicial District.

    Physical Effort: General office duties require that this individual be able to lift and move small loads up to approximately 20-30lbs.

    Education and Job Knowledge: A college diploma is required, with additional studies in a related field preferred. Experience in community involvement, customer service, or public relations is a plus. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn and committed to ongoing professional development.
