About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its advocacy for the interests of contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers in the wall and ceiling industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the organization, including the direction and oversight of full-time staff, and will report to the Board of Directors. This critical and highly-visible role requires a dynamic leader with a proven ability to work closely with union councils, trade associations, benefit funds, regulatory agencies, and membership. The Executive Director will be tasked with financial management, including oversight of the annual budget, and will represent the organization at various local and national associations. They must be a strategic thinker, a consensus builder, and a promoter of cooperation and partnerships while advancing the core goals of the organization.Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree preferred, and at least ten years of senior-level experience in management, including staff supervision, finance, and negotiation. A deep knowledge of the construction industry and experience working with union members and leadership are essential. The role demands excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong decision-making abilities, and impeccable ethical standards. The ideal candidate will be solution-oriented, analytical, and possess sound judgment, serving as a role model for professionalism and integrity. Knowledge of labor unions, collective bargaining, and federal labor laws is a must, with the ability to anticipate changes affecting benefits administration. The Executive Director will also be responsible for articulating the organization's values, mission, vision, and goals, and for formulating programs to further its service to participants.
