Job Description :

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for an Executive Director of Advocates in the Survivor Services Bureau (SSB). In this managerial position, the Executive Director of Advocates will work in collaboration with Leadership of SSB's Victim Assistance Center and is responsible for taking the lead role in executing SSB Mission Statement, managing caseload assignments, supporting Assistant District Attorneys office-wide, providing oversight and professional development to SSB team members, and contributing to the expansion of SSB services at all DANY locations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work collaboratively with SSB leadership, provide direction and supervision to SSB staff members, and ensure SSB mission statement is executed to victims of crime at all DANY locations.
  • Prepare quality control review and statistics from staff for the review by SSB Leadership.
  • Support Assistant District Attorneys on case matters.
  • Co-facilitate with the SSB Leadership on ADA trainings and training to outside partners.
  • Take a lead role as needed in delegating casework and strategic management on ADA's role.
  • Responsible for approving staff schedules, adequate coverages, and back-up coverage at all DANY locations.
  • Provide oversight in staff training modules, workshops, and professional development projects.
  • Manage performance reviews, timesheets and provide regular updates to SSB Leadership.
  • Support SSB Leadership with special projects for the Office as assigned.
  • Ongoing support and supervision to Supervisors, Assistant Supervisor, and staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership in staff recruitment, training, Talking Points, and program development.
  • Perform adhoc duties and projects as assigned.
  • Act as the primary approver for the processing of staff City time.
  • Oversee HCM performance reviews, providing support to junior supervisors, and serve as the primary approver for performance evaluations.
  • Offer guidance to junior supervisors on staff HR matters and escalate issues to senior leadership when necessary and appropriate.
  • Preferred Requirements/Skills:
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology or criminal justice preferred.
  • Written and oral Spanish, or Mandarin and or Cantonese fluency a plus.
  • ASL proficiency a plus.

    Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM / 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM. The selected candidate must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
