We are seeking an Executive Officer, Information Technology who will be assisting the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) in executing the overall functioning of the organization's Information Technology Services (ITS) by supporting and leading the internal ITS staff to meet their objectives of providing much of the technology infrastructure that supports communications with the public and near real-time information to partners in Operations, other business units, and the public to improve mobility and trip experience. The ideal candidate will have preferable experience with Union Employees and highly skilled in Customer Service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- With the CITO, provides strategic leadership, assistance, and direction for use of information technology
- Provides leadership in planning/managing progress toward strategic goals and objectives for the ITS department
- Provides technical advice to the CITO on the development and enforcement of information technology
- Provides technology insight for public-facing innovation initiatives
- Provides assistance in forecasting the organization's information systems needs concerning hardware, software, and/or human resources staffing
- Oversees technology architecture and infrastructure planning and engineering
- Oversees IT infrastructure daily operations and service delivery
- Provides oversight of department's administrative functions including budget development, procurements, policies, and procedures
- Directs the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for various assigned projects
- Coordinates the work of contractors and consultants in the study, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the information systems and related projects
- Represents the organization's before outside agencies, organizations, and interdepartmental task forces and committees in the absence of the CITO
- Interfaces with Board of Directors staff and senior leadership team as necessary to communicate status of agency initiatives; prepares written and oral reports, as required
- Participates in the department's information security, disaster recovery, and safety programs
- Supervises, trains, and motivates assigned staff

EDUCATION
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. A typical combination includes:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
- Eight years of relevant senior management-level experience administering information systems
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job related essential functions
- Professional/industry certifications preferred, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Radio License, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
