Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionThis critical Executive Site / Plant Leader role is for the GE Aerospace Strother Engine Overhaul Facility. This facility designs, produces, assembles, and tests aircraft engines and components for defense and commercial applications and has approximately 600 employees onsite. The Plant Leader will meet customer quality, cost, and delivery requirements while executing and achieving company goals using Lean manufacturing methodology. Furthermore, this individual will be accountable for planning and directing operations and supply chain strategies, objectives, initiatives, and policies for assembly and testing, firmly focused on site performance and SQDIC.Responsibilities
  • Build a positive, diverse & inclusive environment that is focused on the pursuit of excellence in: EHS, Quality, Delivery and Cost across the organization
  • Provide development of staff and teams to guide the plant through their Lean transformation. Ability to attract, grow and retain talent.
  • Define and execute short and long-term strategy to meet business & customer needs including strategic footprint and product actions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams using problem solving methodology where needed to achieve operational and financial metrics including on time delivery, delinquency reduction, quality, workforce planning, compliance, safety and cost.
  • Support and coach a problem solving and learning culture in the next phase of maturity.
  • Lead the matrix for customer/company outcomes across SC & other functions including engineering, product management, services, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and experience applying principles such as GEMBA, leader standard work, value stream mapping, A3/PSR problem solving, etc.
  • Supply Chain leadership in multiple business cycles and/or product types
  • Quality experience, including regulatory agencies with strong knowledge of APQP
  • Demonstration of setting key priorities, establishing applicable KPIs and driving execution of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
  • Demonstrated process leadership and project management to drive outcomes.
  • Experience establishing strong working relationships with customers & suppliers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position
Desired Characteristics
  • Depth in Shop Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Product Engineering
  • Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate & work cross functionally across a value stream.
  • Union relations experience and a demonstrated ability to influence and build productive working relationships.
