A growing General Contracting Company specializing in commercial, retail and residential construction is looking to expand their team! The Executive Project Manager is responsible for leading the construction processes, project oversight, contract review and negotiations process to establish favorable contract terms and conditions that align with DC Green's objectives while mitigating risks.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the construction industry, this person will manage a project controls program and activities regarding contracts and change management for a growing construction company.
Daily Responsibilities
- Oversees and provides support for change and claim preparation for the projects within the company.
- Review, draft, and revise contracts, including purchase orders, change orders, warranty claims, vendor and subcontractor contracts, and licensing agreements, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and legal integrity.
- Interpret contract language to understand the risks, rights and responsibilities of the project teams and guide project teams in properly managing in accordance with these clauses to limit Company's exposure to additional costs.
- Reviews and analyzes contract management records to provide technical advice or project control guidance for the purposes of limiting exposure or protecting the Company from additional risks due to changes and claims.
- Maintain an organized system for contract documentation, tracking key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, and provide timely follow-up and updates to Executive Leadership.
- Assists projects in preparing for disputes resolution hearing and other alternative resolution methods meetings.
- Supports integration of Company systems to track, monitor and control costs or schedule and claim resolution
- Coordinates with project teams and Project Controls Director in tracking and monitoring change order and claims preparation and resolution
- Prepares regular reports and analyses on contract performance, including financial metrics, compliance status, and risk assessment, to inform decision-making and support business planning.
- Understanding and management of budgets and estimate
- Review materials, costs and handle purchasing
- Manage superintendents, productivity, including change orders, production, scheduling, deadlines, delivery, vendors and subcontractors
- Understand gross and net profitably and be able to make adjustments and recommendations to contribute to the overall profitability of the company
- Implement strategies and overall business decisions that help save money and create efficiencies
- Perform all job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
- 7+ years' experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls required.
- Experience with complex scheduling, cost control processes, claims/change preparation and dispute resolution procedures required.
- Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes required.
- Knowledge of various methodologies for claims pricing and preparation.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting, required.
- Able to identify contract specifications that delegate risk and provide appropriate mitigation measures.
- Maintains knowledge of Company's values and strategic plan
- Must have keen sense of general business management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Timberline, OST
Work Environment
The Senior Contracts Manager spends most of their time in an office environment. The office is an open and collaborative space where work is performed both independently and with the team to ensure that customer requests are met.

- Required to hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
- Regularly required to communicate: verbal and written, to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions.
- Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25 lbs.
