ABOUT THE ORCHESTRA FINANCE TEAM

The Orchestra Finance Team oversees financial results and works with our teams on client finance, growth strategies and the overall financial health of the company. We are responsible for the successful integration with our new partner companies as well as any future acquisition activity.

We work with management and other key agency stakeholders to drive profitability and monitor key performance indicators. We are growing a team of experienced finance professionals, change agents, Excel masters and complex problem-solvers to collaborate cross-functionally to assess financial strategies, systems and processes in an effort to drive the full-cycle financial health of all our clients.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Orchestra is seeking a Senior Vice President, Client Finance to help lead our growing work and expand the business. This person will serve as a key business partner, collaborating with account leadership to help grow their business, offer strategic support, provide financial clarity, and ensure that business processes are adhered to and that the practices & entities meet their financial goals.

This role will report to the Head of Finance and provide business support to our senior leadership team.

Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis. The Finance team is in-office at least 3 days per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As a Senior Vice President, Client Finance on our Finance team, you will…

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 12 client finance professionals, fostering growth and high performance.
  • Own the management of the monthly & quarterly financial reports describing results to date, forward projections compared to projected quarter and budgeted annual performance, including commentary around noticeable trends; communicate and set expectation on the risks and opportunities in the forecast & mitigate business risks through improved visibility and control.
  • Partner with the Controller to drive accurate and timely month-end close processes.
  • Provide guidance and strategic advisory on new business commercial proposals on key accounts.
  • Perform financial modeling to better inform decision-making.
  • Help develop reporting, streamline systems and drive best practice initiatives.
  • Spearhead process improvements and system upgrades within ERP platforms to streamline financial operations.
  • Drive effort in simplifying internal financial processes with the goals of clarity and actionable business insights in mind.
  • Develop and maintain ad-hoc financial reports and models to inform business leaders.
  • Identify inefficiencies across accounts and implement strategies to optimize service levels, resource allocation, and revenue generation.
  • Create and drive reports that help identify areas of improvement across accounts; suggest improvements that would drive improvement beyond one account (e.g.over/under service, missing time, revenue risk and staffing plans).
  • Execute ad-hoc projects for the Head of Finance and CFO, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to overall practice management as well as firm-wide management.
Essential skills:
  • 15+ years of experience in client finance or finance. A background in advertising, PR, or similar is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing data, preparing findings and comfort with presenting findings to leadership and/or key stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of company staff, clients and contractors.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting, P&L, Balance Sheet management and revenue recognition methodologies.
  • Champion collaboration and support among VPs, Directors, and Managers to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Consulting & client service oriented mindset and ability to foster positive working relationships both externally and internally.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and computer skills, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint.

  • Comfort with taking initiative and can work without supervision and begin projects independently.

Preferred skills:
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP.
  • Experience with Intercompany work.
WORKING AT ORCHESTRA

Compensation philosophy: Orchestra offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.

Salary range: $200,000-$225,000 (commensurate with experience and skills).

Senior Vice Presidents are eligible for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
