Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Prepare drawings using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software used in civil engineering projects, such as subdivisions, land development, roads, highways, bridges, utility pipelines, storm water management facilities, and water and sewer systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare technical drawings and details for various infrastructure and construction projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Prepare subdivision & land development plan sets, PennDOT HOP plans, and other plans as may be required.
  • Work from detailed sketches and verbal or written direction to produce computer-generated to-scale engineering drawings, cross-sections, details, figures, graphs, charts, overlays and simple isometric drawings.
  • Edit word-processing documents and spreadsheets used in drawings and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving, and transferring.
  • Determine the order of work and method of presentation for all proposed projects including subdivisions, land development, utility pipeline projects.
  • Calculate excavation quantities; prepare graphs and cut-fill analysis diagrams for use in earth-moving operations.
  • Perform self-reviews of completed work to find and correct obvious errors before issuing the product for review by others.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates to aid with construction and project approvals.
  • Support staff in assigned project-based work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Attendance of a two-year program at a technical college or a four-year program at a university or a minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced skill level using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office business software, including Word, Excel, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Typing/word-processing skills.
  • Proficient use of e-mail and internet.
  • Data management.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current valid PA driver's license and personal vehicle for work-related use.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
