Job Description :

ABM is seeking a talented External Communications Specialist to join our Culture and Communications team. This new position plays a central role in telling ABM's industry-leading stories to key external audiences, including shareholders, B2B clients and prospective clients, team members and prospective team members, and industry and community partners.

This is a Hybrid Role (in-office Tue/Wed/Thu) and can be located in either our NYC or Atlanta offices!

This role will be responsible for supporting public and media relations activities and developing, writing, and creating engaging content for various external audiences for distribution across multiple external channels, including social media platforms, news media outlets, websites, and other digital applications, as well as support messaging needs for industry and trade show events and speaking engagements.

A key member of the Culture and Communications team, this role will also collaboratively contribute to external communications strategies and plans, support the development of monthly content and editorial calendars, identifying new storytelling opportunities, and supporting monthly analysis and reporting processes.

The ideal candidate will be a digital content superstar, possessing a prolific creative energy, combined with a strategic mindset with the ability to shift storytelling across various mediums and platforms for different audiences. They will have the ability to think strategically with the ability to learn and apply a brand sensibility across all platforms while executing creative, impactful, and engaging content in support of the company's mission and business objectives.

They will also embrace a collaborative approach and successfully partner with key stakeholders across the enterprise including Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, and Investor Relations.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Content

* Play a collaborative role in the development of social media content calendar for ABM social media channels

* Manage end-to-end process for content generation, including content development, image sourcing, review and approval process, and publishing

* Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Corporate Responsibility, Talent Acquisition, and other key internal stakeholders to ensure strategic initiatives, service offerings, campaigns, and business objectives are supported by dedicated social media activity

* Support monthly reporting process in tracking and measuring channel and content performance, and provide recommendations for continued improvement

* Play a role in protecting the reputation of the ABM brand across social media by providing support for issues management, and the enforcing governance, policing unauthorized or under-resourced social channels, and clean up outdated, unused social accounts

* Stay informed about trends and tools in social media, marketing, and technology

Public Relations & Corporate Communications

* Manage end-to-end process for developing Public & Media Relations content and materials, including but not limited to news releases, articles, fact sheets, infographics, presentations, leadership biographies, and award submissions.

* Play a collaborative role in the development of public and media relations plans, and provide support for public and media relations activity

* Stay informed and knowledgeable on key strategic initiatives across the business, and support development of narratives and media-friendly story angles.

Desired Experience

* Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, digital marketing, or new media or equivalent work experience in social media and/or military service

* 5 years of experience developing, writing, and measuring content for corporate social media and public relations strategies; facility services, commercial real estate, or related B2B industry experience a major plus

* Experience in working collaboratively with teams in developing a wide range of content, including news releases, social media content, infographics, and articles.

* Experience developing and writing social media, articles, and other content for senior/executive leadership

* Strong organizational skills with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects; and adjusting priorities in a fast-moving business environment

* A deep familiarity of social platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and related content management platforms, programs, and tools

* Familiarity with latest social media content trends

Critical Skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media content management, publishing, and analytics tools

* Strong writing skills with ability to distill technical and operational information into engaging messaging for various audiences

* General familiarity or interest in learning how to work with and prepare material for news media

* Professional, agile, creative, and highly collaborative

* Outgoing personality that allows for the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders

* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with leadership and key internal partners

* Resourceful and detail-oriented with proven ability to drive projects from development to execution

* Ability to build network of partners and thrive in a complex organization

* Have a passion for communications, creative storytelling, brands, and business

Pay: $85,000-$110,000

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
