Extruder Operator

Michigan Center, MI

Schedule: Must be available for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

Hourly Rate: $19.63

Primary Duties

• Follow the production schedule, and obtain a shop order for the current part number
• Provide a picklist for the warehouse person to obtain needed materials. Ensure the full amount of material is available to complete the order. If not, inform the supervisor so adjustments can be made. As the end of the current part nears, ensure the order will be complete and prepare for change over to the next production schedule.
• Using shop order, complete a check of all packaging materials, labeling, size checks, line speed, and oven settings.
• Fill out reports associated with each shop order. Some include production reporting, batches dumped, and oven tracking sheets.
• Ensure each batch used for shop order is recorded properly and issued to the correct shop order. Liner usage and scrap reporting are also required.
• Following requirements on shop orders, complete and record specification checks at the proper frequency, adjusting as needed.
• Place test rolls/patches in the oven and mark so samples are completed after the cure process.
• Carry out all operations in compliance with the expected quality standards and operating procedures of HBF and respecting all legal and company EHS rules.
• Responsible for housekeeping in their work area.
• Label and stage unused materials for return to the warehouse.
• Carry out any other duties requested from the Production manager/supervisor

* 1 year experience in industrial environment

*Basic educational degree or High school diploma or general education diploma *No prior experience required * Knowledge of common software programs (MS office) * Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions. * Availability to work any shift

Physical Environment

* Required to stand for long periods of time * Walk and climb stairs * Use hands to remove or lift boxes * Stretch and reach with arms extended * Stoop and bend * Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance * Temperature, dust, smell and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
