The JMA HR Solutions team at James Moore & Co., P.L.'s is currently partnering with Command Medical Products to find an Extrusion Process Engineer who will bring their expertise to the team. Our focus is on the production of single-use disposables, custom kits, and handpiece devices. Our core competencies include medical tubing extrusion, RF welding, assembly, and packaging services. Our facilities adhere to GMP requirements, are ISO 13485 certified, and registered with the FDA.If you're ready to be a part of a forward-thinking company that values creativity, collaboration, and excellence, we want to hear from you!Our Extrusion Process Engineer will contribute to the design, development, production, and optimization of extrusion processes for medical device components.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize extrusion processes to meet design specifications and performance criteria.
  • Provide engineering support for extrusion equipment and tooling across manufacturing, quality, and sales operations.
  • Lead equipment setup, calibration, and operation, optimizing extrusion parameters to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Design and develop tooling, equipment, and cost-saving initiatives for production.
  • Conduct process validation, testing, and documentation activities.
  • Implement and maintain process control systems to ensure consistency and adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product development teams on material selection, prototypes, and statistical analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve extrusion process issues, ensuring minimal downtime and waste.
  • Stay updated on advancements in extrusion technologies and materials.
  • Supervise technicians and operators.
  • Participate in PTEE Ram Extrusion activities.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings and task force groups to integrate activities and resolve challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience in medical extrusion.
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings.
  • Experience with a range of polymers (PJC, PU, PE) and extrusion processes (e.g., single/multi-lumens, co-ex, vacuum, taper).
  • Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and ISO 13485 regulations.
  • Proficiency in tooling design and CAD software (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and basic statistical analysis.
