Fabrication Internship - Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures : Job Details

Summary:We are seeking a Welding Intern to join our team and assist in the fabrication of electrical enclosures. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in welding, assembly, and fabrication within a real-world production environment. You will work closely with our skilled welders and fabricators, learning and contributing to the creation of custom electrical enclosures. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates of a welding program who are eager to apply their knowledge in a professional setting.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Assist with MIG and TIG welding of electrical enclosure components.* Perform basic metal fabrication tasks such as cutting, grinding, and fitting.* Work with a variety of metals including stainless steel and aluminum.* Collaborate with the production team to ensure high-quality assembly of products.* Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.* Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized workspace.* Assist with quality control checks on finished products.* Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities* Perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:* Currently enrollment or recent completion of a welding or metal fabrication program.* Basic understanding of welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.* Ability to read and interpret blueprints or willingness to learn.Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Following established SOP's and Work Instructions.* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.* Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.* Familiarity with safety practices and willingness to adhere to company safety standards.*Physical Demands:* Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking 8-10 hours depending on the task.* Must be able to lift, up to 50lbs., frequently.* The use of approved Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots are required. Gloves may be required depending on certain tasks assigned.
