Summary of Position:

The successful Fabricator/Carpenter/Welder is responsible for forming, bending, shearing, punching, and molding sheet metal as well as performing various welding to include Mig and Tig applications, welding to ASME or AWS codes, and woodworking to include building wooden crates.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to company deadlines to meet or exceed production sheet metal fabrication schedule.
  • Proficiently operates equipment including punch press, shears, brake press, and plate rolls.
  • Performs various woodworking duties, to include building wooden crates and pallets.
  • Understands complex forming drawings and programs and interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Maintains tight tolerances for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Works with various equipment upon direction to serve backlog for optimum productivity.
  • Works with other departments of production upon request.
  • Welds with various applications to include Mig and Tig, adhering to ASME or AWS codes, and welding various metals by selecting the correct equipment and proper process.
  • Adheres to company safety, workmanship, and all other employment policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years experience in woodworking
  • 3 years experience in Mig and Tig applications
  • Ability to understand production demands and facility loading
  • Professional demeanor and team player
  • Strong knowledge of basic safe lifting and material movement techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively issues related to programs, schedule, as well as opportunities for improvement
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently
  • Ability to safely multi-task to meet production goals
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical documents, drawings, and specifications
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
  • Good communication abilities
