ROLE SUMMARY As a Facilities Controls and Instrumentation Technician, you'll be responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation and controls equipment. This includes but is not limited to transmitters, sensors, switches, valves, motors, VFDs, lighting, HVAC controls, etc., in support of semiconductor manufacturing operations.
FACILITIES CONTROLS TECHNICIANS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems and their interface with system controls and instrumentation
- Understanding of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, and low voltage electrical systems
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, chemical, and controls system drawings
- Ability to install instrumentation including mounting hardware and sensing lines, pulling and termination of I/O cables, configuration, calibration, and basic PLC programming
- Review recommended maintenance procedures to ensure best practices are in place and documented properly
- Analyze data trends to ensure system stability and reliability
- Provide technical support for 24-hour operations team
- Ability to create and follow detailed procedures for routine and non-routine work
- Ability to follow facility specified safety and reliability processes
- Computer/software skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, SCADA, CMMS, SAP
THE IDEAL PERSON FOR FILL THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS: - Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in an automation/electronics-related field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a field as a technician (semiconductor experience preferred)
- Able to understand program logic and modify and develop SCADA screens
- Able to terminate instrumentation to a controller and perform calibration through the program interface
- Able to troubleshoot alarms, field instrumentation, pneumatic and electric control valves, variable speed drives and motor starters
- Must be able to respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid, accurate assessments, troubleshoot systems and components to identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system upsets
- Competent with common computer/software skills
