Facilities Custodian - City Of Belgrade Montana : Job Details

Description APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 27, 2025 Under general supervision, performs a full range of custodial and building porter duties related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings, facilities, and grounds. May set up facility rooms for various events and meetings and perform other related duties as assigned. Job Description/ Essential Duties: These job functions are the essential duties of the position and are not all-inclusive of all the duties the incumbent may be assigned.

• Set up rooms for events, conferences, and meetings; move and arrange furniture and equipment.
• Identify and report building maintenance needs in City buildings, facilities, and grounds.
• Clean and sanitize rest room facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets and replenish supplies in restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize all touch points, i.e., door knobs, keyboards, water fountains, etc.
• Sweep, vacuum, shampoo, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors and carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Wash windows, mirrors, and walls.
• Clean desks and counter tops.
• Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles and ash trays.
• Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds.
• Report the need for maintenance or repair on facilities and grounds and may assist in minor repairs.
• Perform outside landscaping and maintenance of grounds, parks, and parking areas, including tree trimming, mowing, raking, removing trash and obstacles; sweeping walkways; removing snow and ice from walkways, stairs, and parking lots.
• May pick up and deliver materials and assist various staff with lifting and moving materials, furniture assembly, and other related duties as assigned.
• May be required to lock up and secure City Buildings for events/nightly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

RequirementsMinimum Required Qualifications (Education, Experience and Training):

• High School Diploma or GED; and
• At least six months of custodial and grounds maintenance experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work may be considered.

Special Requirements/Licenses or Certificates:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain a Montana driver's license within 60 days of employment.
• Offers of employment are conditional upon satisfactory response to a driving record check, an extensive criminal background check, which includes a 10-point fingerprint card, social security trace, search of public databases for criminal, sexual and violent offender, NCIC/CJIN and local records checks, and a thorough reference check.
