Facilities Housing Building Assistant (FWS/NFWS) - Grand Canyon University : Job Details

Grand Canyon University is seeking Housing Cleaner/Maintenance Assistants to support the mission of GCU through the Facilities Housing Department.Purpose within the Organization: The purpose of this position is to assist Facilities Housing Management and Maintenance Personal with housing related job tasks.Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

• Cleans and disinfects hallways, laundry rooms, common areas, study rooms, lobby's, elevators, windows, toilets, etc.
• Assists in moving building material, equipment, supplies, or furniture.
• Hoses down or power washes stairwells, entrances, sidewalks, and courtyards.
• Changes light bulbs, air filters, etc.
• Assist in patching and painting various surfaces, changing window screens, various flooring repair and replacement, and light plumbing, electrical, and various other general maintenance tasks.
• Painting
• Assists in inspections and reporting
• Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

• Power Washer
• Drill
• Ladder
• Paint Roller

Qualifications:

• Must have some experience in custodial/general maintenance work
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
• Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, walk, etc. for up to 8-hours
• Must be a team player
• Must be open to learning and adapting
• Must be good at following strict departmental policies and protocols
• Must be open to constructive criticism

Experience/Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program of Master's program
• Retain a 2.0 GP as a Bachelor level student or 3.0 GPA as a Master's level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Pay Rate: Minimum WageAnticipated End Date: June 30, 2025Availability needed: Between the hours of 6:00am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
