Job Description :

Our school is seeking an individual with facilities maintenance and/or general

construction experience. Our full-time positions offer: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, and life

insurance benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick days, with typically consistent

working hours of Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m with a one- hour break for

lunch. We guarantee 40 hours per week, with the possibility of occasional overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* General maintenance as assigned by Facilities Manager

* Assist with testing, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, systems, and structures

* Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities

* Use a variety of hand and power tool equipment in performing duties

* Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs

* Perform basic carpentry repairs as needed

* Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision

* Assist with set-ups and take downs of stages, backdrops, sound systems, tables and chairs

* Receive and distribute materials throughout the facility

* Move items between locations and from/to storage, including furniture, equipment, and files

* Direct traffic as needed

* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

* Assist with special projects as assigned

* Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

* High School or Technical School education

* Possesses skills in a related trade

* Two years of experience in general building maintenance required. Specific experience/skills in a related trade (carpenter, electrical, plumbing) preferred.

* Valid driver's license required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Considerable judgment required to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available

* Able to make decisions involving considerable initiative and ingenuity

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* None

Training Requirements:

* Bloodborne Pathogens

Essential Functions:

* Regularly required to walk, including across uneven ground, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms

* Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed

* Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop

* Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required

* Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

* Safety Glasses required while performing certain tasks

Work Environment:

* Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise

* Exposed to a combination of normal office-type environments and shop environments

* Ability to work with minimal supervision.

* Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
