The Job

Eckert & Ziegler Isotope Products seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. The position will assist the Facilities Manager by ensuring the functionality, safety and efficiency of building systems, equipment and furnishings. This person will also be responsible for performing repairs, installation, and modifications to a variety of spaces and equipment.

Duties:

  • General building repairs and maintenance for all buildings (e.g., minor electrical and plumbing, etc.)
  • Installation, maintenance and minor repairs of manufacturing and production equipment, furniture, and laboratory systems
  • Performs required building and equipment inspections and testing.
  • Assist in laboratory refurbishment.
  • Demo and installation of HVAC and exhaust system ducting
  • Other demo including equipment and furniture removal, ceiling removal, floor removal, including concrete grinding
  • Create purchase requisitions.
  • Responds to employee requests.
  • Coordinate with employees and external vendors as needed.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of project implementation as needed.
  • Escort contractors, visitors in controlled areas. (OSHA training, radiation-worker status required)
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum education (or substitute experience) required: High-school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum experience required: Must have 2+ years experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.
    • Abilities and skills required:
    • General working knowledge of methods, tools/equipment, materials of various construction
    • General knowledge of safe work practices and ability to follow all safety regulations
    • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to perform heavy physical work in potentially hazardous conditions
    • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to work independently without regular direct supervision and manage tasks using independent judgment and personal initiative.
    • Adaptability to work in an environment with unexpected maintenance issues and balance competing priorities
    • Be able to pass respirator-use physical exam.
