All staff members, regardless of the level of service, and all others associated with or representing HOPE Farm in any way, must be supportive of the spiritual position of HOPE Farm.Job Summary:Hope Farm is a Christian Faith-Based Non-Profit in Fort Worth that impacts the lives of the fatherless boys we serve. We are looking to hire a hardworking and experienced Facilities Manager to be responsible for the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all facilities used by the organization.Duties/Responsibilities:Care, Maintenance, and Management of Buildings:
- Maintain working access, including proper functioning of doors, locks, windows, and electronic gates.
- Maintain all plumbing, carpentry and minor electrical at all facilities.
- Make sure internal and external lighting, climate controls, elevator, and fire suppression, fire extinguishers equipment are in working order.
- Manage the use of storage space in each building, making sure that surplus items are not kept permanently but moved out in order to pass them along to clients or another agency that can utilize them.
- Manage and provide lock and keys when necessary to allow for safety and security (copy keys)
- Collaborate with and schedule contractors to service equipment used to keep buildings operational.( i.e. Lawn, trash, recycle)
- Ensure that annual inspections are done such as the fire alarm system, backflow test, and elevator.
- Inspection and grease trap service (scheduled by vendor) and any other required inspections.
- Remove trash when necessary from buildings as needed to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Make sure all security cameras, fence, gates and locks are working and any other duties that contribute to a safe and secure environment.
- Manage and maintain inventory, cleanliness and order in Garage and Shed for equipment, supplies and ancillary items.
- Make sure reserved space in any building is in good working order for outside parties or agencies who rent the space.
Grounds/Landscape Maintenance:
- Make sure the irrigation system is working properly by replacing bad sprinkler heads and setting timer according to seasonal schedules and weather patterns.
- Determine the tasks or projects to be assigned to volunteer groups who request to give volunteer service.
- Oversee volunteer groups who provide services to buildings or grounds maintenance.
- Collaborate with and schedule contractors to service equipment used to keep the grounds maintained.
- Secure and maintain stored equipment inventory in working condition for use when needed and to prevent theft of property.
Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as needed.
Required Skills:
- Must comply with Hope Farm policies.
- Must model behavior that reflects Hope Farm values.
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate with supervisor, senior leaders and other staff leaders.
- Must be able to interact with clients (moms and their sons when needed or necessary).
- Must be able to articulate the mission of Hope Farm to inquirers, visitors, donors, vendors etc.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of the correlation between facilities management and other departments.
- Must be able to legally drive any vehicle that requires a licensed driver.
- Must be in good physical condition, able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must have basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Email, internet navigation).
- Must be able to obtain competitive bids for service and repairs relative to keeping building, vehicle, and grounds in good operational condition.
- Must be able to change air filters in the HVAC system and manage climate control devices for maximum efficiency.
- Must be able to manage volunteers as they perform service projects related to Hope Farm.
- Must be able to replace lighting fixtures that do not require height-extending equipment.
- Must be able to communicate with service technicians so that the need is clearly understood.
- Must be able to manage time and tasks so that the more urgent needs are met first.
- Must know how to use all equipment owned or rented by Hope Farm (e.g. power washer, lawn mower, garden tools, etc.)
- Must know how to choose and use chemicals for pest control.
- Must be willing to receive instruction to learn pertinent skills that will benefit facilities management.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience as a facilities maintenance person.
- CDL license (optional).
